Project description

Velodrome Size: 250 x 7 meters
Surface: modified Accoya wood

Within the design of Faulkner Browns Architects of the national indoor sports centre of the Netherlands, we have designed and realised a 250 meter international cyclingtrack with a 200 meter athletics track. The athletics track is expanded every year to 6 lanes for (inter) national competitions. Several Dutch, European and World Championships have been held here.
In the summer of 2016 the surface of the track has completely been removed and replaced by modified Accoya wood.
The track has been homologated by the UCI.
During the World Championships in March 2018, 2 world records have been broken on the fast Accoya wooden track: a sea-level world record at the (1 km) sprint by Jeffrey Hoogland in 59.459 sec. and a world record individual pursuit (3 km) by Chloé Dygert in 3.20.06 min.
